About Us
Our Specialties - Steel Town Garage is a full service hot rod shop. We offer turn key builds, mechanical upgrades, custom paint jobs and high end metal fabrication. Our state-of-the-art hot rod shop, is located in historic Birdsboro, PA.
Quality of Service – We are dedicated to providing the highest quality workmanship, by keeping up on all the latest tools and techniques of the trade to perform the highest quality work possible today. Our company and employees are dedicated to doing each job right the first time, and retaining each car owner as a lifetime customer of our shop.
Ownership – Steel Town Garage was co-founded in November 2020, by John Detweiler and Mark Denlinger. John, has a background in business management, as the Owner and CEO of multiple successful businesses, in addition to years of experience in a family owned collision shop. Mark, is highly skilled in all aspects of the hot rod industry with over 20 years of hands on experience. Together, with their combined knowledge, shared passion for cars, and commitment to excellence every day, the dynamic duo make the perfect team.
Our name
We wanted to create a shop name with a strong connection that ties to the town’s history in the steel industry. If you are not familiar, Birdsboro steel was a huge part of Birdsboro back in the day and hired many locals from the town. Some of John’s family members actually worked there. The steel plant played a huge part in production of steel for war related items such as tanks, ammunition, and artillery for both World War II and the Korean War. Although, Birdsboro Steel closed many years ago the memories of what was will never fade. We are here to help remember the past and to build our future.
Our Logo
If you are from Birdsboro, you will notice the outline of the Birdsboro Steel building and stacks in the logo's background. We added the outline to our logo to tie into the shop's name and pay tribute to this iconic piece of our town's history. Birdsboro Steel will forever remain a staple in our communities past and we are proud to help carry it's memory into the future.
